Unity College pupils are water-wise

BROADACRES - Unity College in Broadacres embraced the concept of National Water Week which ran from 17 to 23 March.

Unity College is a special needs school which caters for pupils with delayed scholastic ability.

The school is in the process of becoming an eco-school, so water week was the perfect opportunity to educate its pupils on conserving water.

The grade 2, 3, 4 and 5 pupils went to Delta Park environmental centre and were exposed to a superb programme where they learnt about the water cycle. They had already been learning about water and pollution as their themes for the term, so the programme was of great interest to them.

They learnt what a precious resource water is and were told not to waste it.

The programme ended with the pupils meeting Manzi, the water mascot who gave them free water bottles and taught them the water wise dance.
