Farewell and thank you for the help

Following the announcement of the resignation of Midrand Community Policing Forum's Sector 4 chairperson Takis Michalakis, chairperson of Sun Valley Residents' Association Pierre Hefer writes:

IT IS with regret that we received your letter informing us that you are stepping down as chairperson of the Midrand Sector 4 Crime Forum.

We thank you for letting us know that you will, however, still be playing an active role within the organisation going forward.

The Sun Valley residents have asked me to send you this open letter in order to express our extreme gratitude to you for the strong leadership role that you have played in fighting crime and unifying our community in the past.

It is in fact very seldom that an individual has the capability and selflessness to play such an important role in a community and we are most indebted to you for all your service over the years.

I have been inundated with letters and phone calls from concerned and grateful residents that you have assisted over the years and I thought it was most appropriate to thank you officially in this letter.

I am joined by my committee in acknowledging your impressive achievements in the past and thank you most sincerely for your help and assistance.

We look forward to continue working closely with you in the future.
