Little girl needs prayers

A brave little battler of four needs your support.

Friends and family of ependymoma patient, Layla O’Neill are appealing to the community to show their support of the little survivor by joining in a day of prayer and fasting on Thursday 6 February.

Ependymoma is a tumour that grows on cells in the brain and the centre of the spinal cord. Layla has recently returned home from hospital after an operation to insert a spinal shunt which will hopefully drain fluid away from her brain and ease her muscular and chest pain.

Since returning home, she has had to learn how to walk and eat again, and is also taking a lot of different medication.

“Layla is still experiencing a little discomfort and pain which the doctors said she would due to her body fighting such a big battle,” Layla’s mom, Sharyn O’ Neill said.

Layla’s family will be fasting from 6am to 6pm on Thursday and they are making a plea to the community to join them, even if they just give up their caffeine or chocolate fix for the day.

“If you are unable to fast, that is totally fine – but if each and every one could just say a simple prayer for healing on the day it would be immensely appreciated,” O’Neill said.
