Flooded bridge causes chaos

PAULSHOF- A flooded bridge on Witkoppen Road near Paulshof caused chaos for morning commuters on Monday.

Due to the heavy rains across Gauteng a low level bridge became flooded by the Sandspruit River which flows underneath it.

Twitter was abuzz with tweets and photos of the flooded bridge with many users questioning why commuters were still trying to cross the flooded bridge.

A bakkie was allegedly washed off the road during the flood.

There were also reports of two people being stuck in a tree.

ER24 has now closed off Witkoppen Road at the flooded bridge to ensure that no further accidents occur.

Flooding was also severe in Chartwell, as shown by this video captured by Brian ortner.
