Crawford Preparatory’s principal retires

Crawford Preparatory Lonehill's principal, Neville Swain is retiring after 14 years at the school.

Swain was the founding principal when the school first opened and was housed in what is now the Crawford College building. He was instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition to the current premises.

Swain was involved in all aspects of the planning and building processes and his foresight, practicality and attention to detail ensured that the school became the beautiful and well-designed school it is today.

Corlia Ipland, Swain’s personal assistant said, “We’ve been so privileged to have Mr Swain as the Head of Crwaford Prep Lonehill. He has taken our school from strength to strength, leaving lasting footprints on the hearts of all the pupils, staff and parents he has encountered along the way.”

Swain will be relocating to the United Kingdom in December to realise his dreams of travelling, exploring and living an adventurous life while enjoying much-needed relaxation.

Swain said that the best thing that has ever happened to him was to establish Crawford Preparatory Lonehill from the ground up.

He added, “The best advice that I can give my staff and parents is to understand that children are individuals who grow and develop in their own unique way and that education should be geared to accommodate their needs.”
