Disgraced head teacher, school named

BRYANSTON- The school from which a head teacher was dismissed because of charges of sexual misconduct has been named as King's College and Preparatory School.

The school is described as being a tranquil property nestled between the suburbs of Bryanston, Douglasdale, Olivedale and Jukskei Park.

According to EWN, King’s College released a statement on 27 November that said it was cooperating fully with the police investigation.

This comes after a case of sexual misconduct was opened at the Douglasdale Police Station on 26 November.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred in 2005.

On 27 November it was reported that the head teacher involved had attempted to commit suicide at his home in Craigavon by pill overdose.

CRAIGAVON- A head teacher of a prominant bryanston high school involved in case of sexual misconduct has attempted to commit suicide.

EWN  broke a story on the same day about a head teacher at a Bryanston high school who had been dismissed as a result of a charge of sexual misconduct.

According to EWN the charge relates to an incident in 2005.

Communications officer for the Douglasdale police, Warrant Officer Balan Muthan confirmed that a case of this nature had been opened at the Douglasdale police and said that it is now being handled by the Sexual Offences Unit.

Vanessa Jackson, spokesperson for ER24 confirmed that paramedics from Fourways Life Hospital responded to a call at 11:55 pm on 26 November.

The patient had attempted to commit suicide by a pill overdose.

He was resuscitated by paramedics from Fourways Life as well as advanced life support paramedics from ER24, however he refused to be taken to hospital.

Jackson explained, “When a patient refuses to be taken to hospital the advanced life support paramedics assess the health of the patient and if they are lucid they cannot be forcibly admitted to hospital.”
