Scouts learn about safety

PAULSHOF- The Cubs and Scouts of the 1st Rivertrail Group paid a visit to Dräger's South African headquarters on Witkoppen Road.

Dräger is an international leader in medical and safety technology. The Cubs and Scouts had the opportunity to try on Self Contained Breathing Apparatus units and see the latest personal protection equipment.

Dräger gave the group access to their Training Gallery, a specially equipped truck which is used to train rescue workers in the use of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus in a variety of situations.

The group was also met by firemen from the Lonehill firestation who demonstrated the use of Ladder 16, the station’s ladder truck.Cubs and Scouts are open to all children between the ages of seven and 18.
