City council calls for public meetings

The City of Johannesburg is embarking on a process to roll-out the Community Based Planning concept to all the wards in the city.

The aim of the Community Based Planning process is for the city council and its communities to jointly analyse and formulate community needs, and to feed this information into the Integrated Development Plan and budgeting process.

Community Based Planning is about ensuring social cohesion in communities and in adopting a joint, participative approach to development.

Notice is therefore given of public meetings to commence with the Community Based Planning process in Region B. Citizens of all the wards in Region B are invited to participate in these planning sessions.

The cluster 1 (wards 87, 88, 90, 98, 99, 102, 104 and 117) meeting will take place on 4 December at 6pm at the Pavilion Room, Marks Park,

Judith Road, Emmarentia.

The Cluster 2 (wards 68, 69, 82 and 86) meeting will take place on 5 December at 6pm at Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre, on the corner of Rex and Plantation streets, Montclare.
