Animal shelter rescues frightened cat

FOURWAYS - 4Paws animal shelter often rescues animals from outlying areas but shelter employees had to perform an emergency rescue one morning, right on their doorstep.

The employees were surprised when they arrived for work as they heard cries coming from nearby.

They soon realised that the cries were coming from a cat who was stuck in a tree right next to the property.

Sacha Fraser of 4Paws said, “Judging from his desperate cries the poor thing must have been there for several hours.”

In a combined effort from all the staff the cat finally reached the ground safely.

The cat, who Fraser named ‘Alec’, was taken to the 4Paws vet who determined that he was unsterilised and did not have a microchip.

Fraser said, “Alec is one of the most lovable cats we have ever come across and we’d love to find him a good home.”
