Models get dirty

Models signed up by modelling agency Figures Bryanston have proved they are beautiful inside and out, and have taken the initiative of making sure the park behind the agency stays spotless.

The models joined forces with Ward 115 environmental activist Susan Mottram of Headline News and Ward 115 councillor Chris Santana in the hope of cleaning up Mangaan Street, from Juweel to Robyn Streets. The models spent one of their first summer weekends picking up litter, sweeping the streets and restoring the area to its former glory.

Ryan Vaughn of Figures Bryanston said they put a notice out to residents in the area, in the hope they would join the models in the initiative, but unfortunately the models were left to clean the area by themselves. Although the models were not joined by other residents, the day was still a huge success with bags of litter thrown away and the hedge by the pavement cut back to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Vaughn said he hoped to conduct similar cleanups in the future and urged residents to attend. Mottram echoed Vaughn’s plea and said, “Public collaboration can achieve great things in our communities, like pushing back grime and crime.”
