Doggie walk in time for Spring

BRYANSTON - Just in time for spring, the Spring Doggie Walk will take place at the PwC Cycle Park in Bryanston on 29 September.

The event organiser, Rob Jackson, explained that the aim of the event was to bring the dog community together for a good cause and a day of fun.

He said, “A portion of the proceeds will go to the South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind.”

There will be both a 3km and 6km walk as well as 500m puppy dash.

Food and drinks will be on offer throughout the morning for human entrants. For canine entrants there will be water points and special doggy treats provided by Bob Martin.

The first 100 entrants at the gate on the day will receive a goodie bag.

Jackson suggested that if your dog was not used to socialising in a friendly manner with both dogs and humans, this might not be the ideal event for you.

He said, “There will be many dogs and people around so please ensure that your dog is properly leashed and ready to socialise with other dogs.”

The Spring Doggie Walk starts at 8am and tickets cost R60 per dog and R60 per person. Children under 12 enter free of charge.

Jackson said, “There will be great raffles and prizes up for grabs so make sure you don’t miss out on this fantastic family fun day. Tickets will be available online from webtickets and at the gate.”
