Historic race at Waterfall

KYALAMI - Breakthru Midrand has announced that the new venue for their annual race is Waterfall Estate.

The 15km race entries, as well as the Morningside 5km race online entries, are now open. The date for this exciting event is 21 July.

Race convenor, Kebu Kotola said, “This year the race will be at a new safe venue, Waterfall Estate, and we invite you to join in again to make this race a huge success.”

Chairman of the Kyalami based club, Breakthru Midrand Striders, Duane Newman, said, ” Winter has made its turn, and only a few weeks lies ahead before race day. So enter now, give yourself motivation and a target and start training. This year the race will also be something special as it will be a Carbon Neutral race, a first for South Africa.

“This race has traditionally been known for tough hills and chilly weather, so come and join this year’s event. It is presented to raise funds for various charities including Rotary Morningside, Red Bowl and Food and Trees for Africa.”

The race will begin at 8am on 21 July from Maxwell Drive, Waterfall City. Online entries close on 14 July.

Apart from on the race day, race numbers can be collected from the following registration points:

  • Sport Health and Fitness Technologies – 61 Main Street (corner Guillaume Av), Bordeaux, Randburg on 17 July from 9am to 3pm
  • Boost Bar, Centurion Mall on 18 July from 9am to 3pm
  • Boost Bar, Greenstone Mall, Edenvale on 19 July from 9am to 3pm
  • Waterfall Country Estate on 20 July from 9am to 12pm
