Talented artist aims for the sky

His father was the start-line of his career with just a set of drums.

A local artist from Jukskei Park has made a name for himself in three fields he knew he was talented in since three-years-old. Connor Denton is a musician, actor and model. He has been in this industry his whole life. His journey started at three years old when his father, Lawrence Denton, bought him a set of drums. “I have always loved Feetwood Mac and I would learn playing by memorising the percussion meter from their songs,” he said.

The 17-year-old is always looking to better his skills and make an impact in other people’s lives using his music. He hopes that in a few years, he will see more progress in his whole brand. “Realistically I just want to see myself move forward. My dream would be to be number one and be a global megastar. One of my songs hit number 21 in Durban and I honestly couldn’t believe it,” said Denton.

When the Fourways Review asked the youngster how he would describe himself he said he was different. Denton is very passionate about his work, and he says both his parents, Lawrence and Colette Denton, are his biggest supporters. “They support my career and see the visions I have and they help with fulfilling that,” he added.

Denton focuses on a fusion of rap, soul, pop and rock. “My music is on every streaming platform including Spotify, Apple music, Deezer and Youtube music.” The youngster has been featured in Adidas, Binnerlanders, Black Tax and has his own music video for his single called Bandz.
