Cedarwood School hosted a therapist tea party on September 13 for therapists and psychologists from various schools and private practices in Fourways. This was to share thinking experiences and engage on various challenges faced within their institutions.
Cedarwood School’s multidisciplinary team of educational psychologists, learning support, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech, then decided to share the interventions offered at their school.
During the talk, the attendees realised that their issues at hand were not unique, but more common than they thought and they therefore decided to form a working relationship.
Furthermore, the talk created an awareness of the difficulties they each face, as well as the solutions, thus providing knowledge and a good working relationship. They agreed to help more children whichever way they could, including being more patient with them.
They also agreed to have more of the talks to find different ways of helping their patients.
