Women of Influence get celebrated at Crawford International Fourways

In honour of the invite, the moms looked stylish in their fancy hats and high tea finest to enjoy the delicious breakfast and motivational talk organised by Crawford International Fourways.

Crawford International Fourways hosted a high tea event at the school premises on August 18, to continue to celebrate Women’s Month.

“We invited moms of the learners for a Women of Influence Breakfast [because] we wanted to pay a special tribute to the women in our school community, by acknowledging the beautiful spirit of independent strength of all our women,” said the media relations officer of the school, Tasneem Evans.

The moms looked stylish in their fancy hats and high tea finest to enjoy the delicious breakfast and motivational talk.

The school’s music teacher, Mercia Silcock, welcomed the guests by playing the trumpet and singing. One of the guest speakers, Jo-Anne Lowry took over and moved the audience with her heartfelt story about being a successful businesswoman, a mom, and a wife. She has been part of Crawford International for 17 years.

“No matter how busy life gets, you must make your children and family a priority. Spend much time with them. Go to the soccer match as you never know when it will come to an end,” she advised.

The school’s educational psychologist Sable Leicher with principal Ian Rothman.

The school’s educational psychologist, Sable Leicher, did a presentation titled, Overcoming Difficulties. She spoke about how women are defined in familial and societal roles, having a growth mindset, and overcoming difficulties.

The event was a huge success as the guests appreciated the time that they got to enjoy and feel special. School principal Ian Rothman said, “It is important to host events that honour the special people in our school community. This was a platform to recognise and celebrate women; an opportunity for like-minded and influential women to get together to build valuable connections with each other.”
