Douglasdale police open an inquest docket for drug lord's death.

Glenn Agliotti known as “The Fixer” passed away on July 1 in Johannesburg.

The 64-year-old controversial businessman was convicted of being a drug dealer and handed a suspended sentence in 2007. He later became the sole state witness in the corruption trial of the former police commissioner Jackie Selebi.

Agliotti who was also acquitted by the High Court in Gauteng for the murder charges of the mining magnate Brett Kebble, has sparked a lot of speculations surrounding the details of his untimely death because the cause of his death is not yet known.

Police spokesperson captain Mavela Masondo confirmed to Fourways Review that an inquest docket has been opened at the Douglasdale police station on Saturday.

“A post-mortem is expected to be carried out to find out the circumstances surrounding his death,” he added.
