Bryanston primary school collected a whopping amount of pre-loved shoes for their Sole2Sole project

Bryanston Primary School came up with the idea to support Sole2Sole non-profit organisation by donating shoes to the less fortunate.

Bryanston Primary School implemented a Community Outreach Committee for the first time this year. This project was one of the first ideas of one of their current community outreach learners, who proposed his ideas to Oscar Swanepoel. The intersen phase head of the department last year. He was successful in putting them into action.

The team has been collecting gently used, unused, and small shoes from various learners, staff, and parents to contribute to the Sole2Sole Project. At the end of term two, shoes will be disinfected and distributed to those in need.

According to a teacher Tania Roman, the team collected over 1 100 pairs of shoes for term two. The shoes will be donated to Sole2Sole by June 22, for the less fortunate.

“We could not have done this without the support of our Bryanston families. We thank them for making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate,” said Roman.

“We are so blessed to be helping out those in need. It has been such a rewarding experience seeing the joy when these deliveries are made and knowing that we are making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate,” added Roman.
