Dineo Du Toit, an 11-year-old talented dancer from Fourways, recently had the opportunity of a lifetime when she represented Just Wing It Studio at a dance competition in Croatia.
And what a competition it turned out to be for her. Dineo came home with an incredible list of achievements, including first-place finishes in tap solo, tap duet, and revolution tap group, as well as a fifth-place finish in a jazz solo.

Dineo’s success at the competition is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the art of dance. She has been dancing since she was a very young girl, and her passion for the art form has only grown stronger over the years. She spent countless hours practising and perfecting her routines, and her efforts paid off in a big way at the competition.

One of the things that sets Dineo apart from other dancers is her versatility. She excelled in multiple styles of dance at the competition, including tap, jazz, and musical theatre. Her ability to adapt to different styles and choreography is a testament to her skill and dedication as a dancer.

But her success in the competition was not just a result of her hard work. She also credits her teachers at Just Wing It Studio for their guidance and support. They helped her hone her skills and prepare for the competition, and their belief in her abilities gave her the confidence she needed to succeed.

“I am proud of myself. I feel like I could’ve done better with acro and jazz, but then again, it was very competitive for jazz. I appreciate all my friends for their support and my dance teacher for choreographing these dances and supporting me. I am proud of all of us, and congratulations to my team,” said Dineo.

Her parents were proud of Dineo’s achievements in Croatia. “She works hard and loves being on stage. I often have to remind myself that Dineo is only 11 years old; she performs at a pace greater than her age,” said her mother Charmaine.

“We are very blessed to be part of Just Wing It, it’s an extended family. Julie-Anne [Oberholzer] is a very talented teacher and choreographer. She always has her students’ best interests at heart.”

According to Dineo’s mother, Julz, as they affectionately call Oberholzer, has often pushed Dineo past what they would think are her abilities, but she continues to get great results, and the relationship Dineo has with Julz is one of great respect and love. They are excited to watch Dineo grow and see what she achieves next.

Oberholzer said, “I am beyond proud of Dineo and her determination in setting out to achieve her goals and coming home with her bag full of trophies. Dynamite truly comes in small packages. Working with Dineo is truly a joy and an honour, and I could not be happier for her and what she has accomplished at such a young age. I am amazed at how she continues to find a balance between school, singing, dancing, and acting, as well as participating in ad-hoc professionally paid gigs and events, and handles.”
