Johannesburg Water has urged residents to be aware of the new meter reading team that will be on the ground from May 20.

Ward 93 councillor Vino Reddy advised residents who may have their water meters on their properties, or inside residential complexes to be vigilant and report any incident to Johannesburg Water immediately. “Should any individual claim to be from an entity or is acting on behalf of an entity, they should be in official identifiable uniform and carry official identification badges. Residents who feel uncomfortable letting them in on their property can also take a picture of the reading and forward it to Joburg Water. Under no circumstances should a person’s safety be compromised,” said Reddy.

According to Johannesburg Water, Ntokomalo Yama Sezane Construction contractors will have company identification, blue overall, and/or black rain suits with their company logo on them.
