Xstatic Dance Studio dancers ready to show face in Croatia

Dancers from Xstatic Dance Studio are heading to Croatia to make South Africa proud.

A Pineslopes-based dance school is eager to bring back the gold as four dancers are set to head to Europe.

Dancers from Xstatic Dance Studio will get a chance to perform their best moves in Croatia for the World Dance Masters in May. The dancers participated in the Dance Star South African qualifiers in October last year and received qualifying marks to participate in this year’s Dance Masters.

In the competition, dancers Aaliyah Grace Biggs and Lufuno Muravha will dance acrobatics, Aneeqa Moore in hip-hop and Cyan Rose Robert in musical theatre.
The dance teacher at the studio, Lindy Liebmann-Carnicelli said, “We had 12 dancers who actually qualified but unfortunately they didn’t have the funds to go to Croatia with the team SA this time next year they will hopefully qualify again,” she said.

Even with a number of dancers unable to take part this year. Liebmann-Carnicelli has high hopes for her team at the competition. She said the event will be an interesting experience for her group.
“There will be the competition as well as workshops and events with overseas teachers and choreographers, the dancers and I will also get the opportunity to meet dancers and teachers from around the world,” she said.

“I hope my dancers do their best and have loads of fun and that it’s most important. If we manage to get placings and trophies that would be an even extra special blessing.”
The dance teacher expressed immense pride and excitement in her group of dancers for their trip.
“I have had dancers go to Los Angeles before for an international dance competition to represent South Africa, but I was not able to go with them. This year, I am joining my dancers so it’s going to be a fantastic experience for my students, parents, and I,” she said.
