Local dancers compete in World Dance Championship in Croatia

Eight talented dancers from Just Wing It Studio are set to represent South Africa in a world dance competition in Croatia.

Eight talented dancers from Just Wing It Studio in Fourways are set to represent South Africa in a world dance competition in Croatia. The dancers, who range in age from 10 to 17, will be competing against some of the world’s best dancers in a variety of styles, including contemporary, hip-hop and jazz.

Thereso Dolamo, Chelsea Wedderburn, Nia De Sousa, Kyla Hegland, Tariq Simelane, Zara De Sousa, Lillian Jackson, and Dineo du Toit. have been training for months to prepare for the competition and have faced numerous challenges along the way. They are determined to do their best and showcase their skills on the international stage.

According to coach Julie-Anne Oberholzer, the dancers are not only talented but also hard-working and dedicated. They have put in countless hours of practice and have pushed themselves to their limits to prepare for the competition.

Oberholzer said, “I am overwhelmed by the success of my dancers. I am constantly awed by their dedication and passion, and I enjoy thoroughly helping them progress in their dance, their technique and their skills. I have a wonderful job and am thankful I am able to do what I do.

“I cannot wait to see my Just Wing It students take flights.”

Representing South Africa in an international competition is a huge honour for the dancers, and they are excited to showcase their unique style and talent to the world. They hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and to show that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.

One of the dancers Dineo du Toit said “Well, I also think it’s a really big shot for me to show those judges what I’ve got, but I also learnt from other people to just have fun and enjoy the opportunity to be overseas to dance internationally.”
