Fourways star shines bright at NY fashion week
Young model's dream comes true at New York Fashion Week.
A young Fourways model walked the New York Fashion Week catwalk for designer Mitch Desunia.
Multi-talented Giselle Niemand (13) shared that being part of fashion week has been a dream come true.
“My experience at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) was the best of my career so far. Thank you to Valerie Begbie from Vogue Models who prepared me for the international ramp. I always dreamt of modelling at NYFW,” said Giselle.
“The most amazing moment was seeing myself on the New York Times Square Billboard. The photo was taken by one of our best local photographers Carel van Vuuren. Every experience was so exciting and New York is a very vibrant and busy city. I just couldn’t get enough of it and cannot wait to get there again soon.”
Giselle will continue to fly the South African flag high after impressing in New York. “While I was in New York, I was offered work modelling in September at New York, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks. It almost feels unreal. I cannot wait to model at all the top fashion weeks, where I will walk for designer Mitch Desunia,” she said.
After returning from her visit to the Big Apple she still says there’s no place like home. “I love Fourways, it’s my birthplace and I enjoy going to the mall, it’s got everything and all the best designer shops. The people are friendly and we have so many restaurants to choose from. Fourways is definitely a special area with amazing people.”
Giselle is determined to make her experiences count as she aims for bigger and better things. The sky is the limit at her age.
