Witkoppen staff members educate community members about services offered at the facility

Executive director at the clinic said the facility was not only offering medical services to community but also psycho-social services as well.

Witkoppen Clinic recently hosted its first-ever open day to showcase and exhibit health services available at the facility.

Executive director at Witkoppen Clinic Dr Jean Bassett said the facility has different departments that offer different medical and psycho-social services that community members can utilise.

“This is the first open day to be hosted by Witkoppen Clinic since it was open 75 years ago. An event of this nature will help us introduce our clients, and the community member to learn about the different services that we offer at the clinic.”

“Our clinic has a variety of services. We have medical doctors, social workers, dieticians, paediatrician specialists as well as professional HIV/Aids counsellors. We also work closely with Randburg Children’s Court to help vulnerable and abused children.”

“We also have the Orphan and Vulnerable Children programme through which we offer after-school care to vulnerable children in different poor communities of Johannesburg North.” Bassett said.
