Local philanthropist urges Fourways community to help donate clothes for learners’ matric farewell

Local author and philanthropist recently donated 200 pairs of brand-new shoes to needy learners of Toevlug Primary School in Ventersdorp.

Fourways philanthropist, author and 2022 Mrs Universe Africa, Mpho Mogotsi has appealed to the community to help donate matric farewell clothing to learners from underprivileged communities.

Mogotsi, who was recently crowned Mrs Universe Africa, said her organisation, Heal the World Foundation will host a matric farewell for underprivileged learners.

“I am very passionate about empowering and uplifting women and children from impoverished communities.
“In October 2022 I will be hosting a matric farewell for underprivileged learners in Alexandra Township and I appeal to the Fourways community help to donate preloved evening gowns, suits for boys, shoes and money towards this worthy cause.”

In partnership with shoe manufacturing company Bata, Mogotsi also recently donated 200 pairs of brand-new shoes to needy learners of Toevlug Primary School in Ventersdorp.

Mogotsi who said she uses her bitter experience of being a gender-based violence survivor to help others.

“My joy comes from helping others to overcome their battles. As a survivor of gender-based violence, I strongly believe that sharing your journey with other people, who are going through what you experienced, can help them heal from their wounds as well.”

In December this year, Mogotsi will represent Africa at the global Mrs Universe in Seoul, South Korea.
