A school in Beverley received a visit from Douglasdale police officers for a school safety awareness programme on September 6.
Douglasdale police officers visited The Bridge Assisted Learning School to address learners on safety issues at home, in public areas and at school.
The spokesperson for the police Captain Mpho Tshetlhane said the day was filled with several activities with the learners. They were also given reminders on the importance and necessity of emergency numbers.
“The programme ended with the display of a police vehicle where learners were taught about the interior of the police vehicle and how the police react to an emergency with the siren and blue lights on,” she said.
