Xstatic Dance Studio hosts workshop to sharpen the skills of young dancers

Founder of Xstatic Dance Studio said the studio has produced a number of professional dancers in the past 10 years.

A Fourways-based dance studio hosted a technique and contemporary dance workshop to help young dancers sharpen their dancing skills on August 24.

Young dancers from Fourways gathered at Xstatic Dance Studio in Pineslopes to learn dance variations from a seasoned dancer Tanner Bond who was invited to facilitate the workshop.

The founder of Xstatic Dance Studio Lindy Liebmann said the studio had produced several professional dancers in the past 10 years.

She said the workshop was aimed at helping the young dancers learn different moves from someone they were not used to.

“We’ve roped in a professional dancer and a teacher to come and help our dancers get something different. Our aim is to prepare our dancers for the forthcoming national and international dance competitions.”

She urged parents of children who liked dancing to bring them to the studio.

“As a local dance studio, we believe that dance is so much more than getting medals and trophies. Dance can be used as a tool to help both children and adults cope with life better. Dance can be used to help heal trauma, anxiety, depression and many emotional pains.”
