Puppy parents and their furry family members graduated from a puppy-class course at Smart Puppy
Smart Puppy is a positive reinforcement puppy-training school, specialising in pups up to six months.
They offer the puppies and their human parents’ puppy training.
“Smart Puppy is committed to building strong relationships between a puppy and its family. The pups learn important cues such as walking on a lead, coming when called, to leave items and more,” said Amanda Pybus, the owner of the school.
They also learn how to play and engage with other pups of the same age, are exposed to new people and environments.
Puppy parents learn about the pup’s needs and how to manage the puppy at home, e.g. biting and jumping up.
The puppy parents and their furry family members graduated from a five-week puppy class course this weekend.
The puppy parent is sometimes referred to as a handler. This can be a child or an adult. They learn alongside their pups during the courses about what their pup’s needs are and how to enrich their lives
Pybus concluded, “The most important learning phase for a dog is between eight to 16 weeks. The correct exposure to new experiences such as other pups, people, environments, noise in a positive and fun way sets the pup up for life and ensures better integration into the pup’s new family, for example, dogs that walk on a lead without pulling you around the neighbourhood or who is happy to meet other dogs on the way, are more likely to go for walks.”
