St Peter’s learner represents Central Gauteng at this year’s Action Cricket Inter-provincial Tournament

St Peter’s College cricketer said the tournament helped him improve his batting and bowling skills.

A Grade 9 learner and action cricket player at St Peter’s College believes his dream to represent South Africa at an international level one day was on track.

The 14-year-old cricketer, Ethan Gotthard recently represented Central Gauteng in this year’s Action Cricket Inter-provincial Tournament held at Meyersdale Action Sports Arena from June 30 to July 2.

“I’ve been playing action cricket since I was only seven. I started playing it in school only last year and being selected to represent Central Gauteng at the inter-provincial tournament helped me learn and improve my skills.

Competing against players from different teams gave me an opportunity to sharpen and improve my batting and bowling skills.

“I love playing action cricket and I believe that one day I will get an opportunity to represent South Africa at an international level. Right now, I’m preparing myself to participate at the Shaun Pollock Cricket Festival in Durban later this year.”
