Pinnacle College Kyalami learner makes the cut for Gauteng Schools U12 Netball Team

The young netball player said she believes that her commitment, dedication and hard work have helped her get selected to represent the province.

The parents of Pinnacle College Kyalami learner Kuhlekonke Nkondo expressed their joy after their daughter was selected to play for the Gauteng Schools U12 Netball Team.

Kuhlekonke said her selection was the realisation of one of her dreams.

The young and upcoming netball star believed that her commitment, dedication and hard work have helped her get selected to represent the province.

“I am a kind, dedicated, hardworking little girl and I have shown interest in sport from a very young age. Over the years, I have participated mostly in athletics, 100m and 200m sprints and to date have never lost an inter-school challenge.”

She said when she was in Grade 2, she played netball for the Grade 3 team.

“From that year, when I was doing Grade 2 I started showing talent over the years and showing improvements every day. Then finally after all my hard work, I have been noticed and selected to try out for trials and eventually found the spot in the provincial team.”

Her father Grant Nkondo said he and his wife would continue rallying behind their daughter in sports and academics.

“We are very proud of Kuhlekonke as parents and we will continue supporting her academically and in sport. We hope the school will walk with us in this journey to open up more opportunities for her.”
