Selaelo Chuene Art Centre hosts an art festival at Riversands Incubation Hub to unearth new talent

Diepsloot Youth Programme coordinator said the annual art event is aimed at bringing together creatives of all genres to showcase their talent in one stage.

A Riversands-based art organisation, Selaelo Chuene Art Centre in partnership with Diepsloot Youth Programme recently hosted an art festival at Riversands Incubation Hub.

The audience that filled up the Incubation Hub’s auditorium was indulged with live music performances, theatre plays and dance.

Diepsloot Youth Programme coordinator, filmmaker and creative arts performer Papi Sathekge said, “This event gives our local artists an opportunity to showcase their craft. The festival brings together different kinds of art on one stage including music, theatre, and dance. The event also gives our creatives a chance to meet those who are doing what they do.

“This year, we invited people well-known people like Mpho Molepo from Generations the Legacy to come and give council to our young artists. Our art centre has a lot of talented youngsters who need to be nurtured.”
