One killed by a mob in Diepsloot

Despite a meeting with Bheki Cele, the community, later on, attacked and killed one foreign national.

Angry protestors at Diepsloot took matters into their own hands on Wednesday evening, March 6 and allegedly killed a male foreign national.

This follows after seven people were allegedly killed by foreign nationals in the area. The community then demanded to meet with Minister of Police Bheki Cele to address the increased crime rate in the area. Cele addressed the community yesterday at the Diepsloot Police Station, assuring them that the issue will be dealt with immediately, by increasing police visibility in the area.

However, they proceeded to Ext 1 where they took matters into their hands. ” I can confirm that one male was attacked and killed by a mob in Ext 1 last night. A murder case is being investigated,” said Brigadier Brenda Muridili, SAPS national spokesperson.
