Clay Oven Informal Settlement residents receives food donations from a local non-profit organisation

FOURWAYS– Laas said more than 100 residents were served with hot meal and received 12kg bags of maize meal to provide for their families.

In an effort to help the needy and less privileged in Clay Oven Informal Settlement, Fourways Lions Club non-profit organisation recently embarked on an initiative to feed scores of families in the community.

“The Fourways Lions Club started the food distribution initiative by making 40 litres of curried mince and vegetables for the residents of the Clay Oven Informal Settlement. The meal was delivered together with 12kg bags of uncooked maize meal to provide the residents with a cooked meal.

Our mission as an organisation is to make a meaningful difference in the communities,” Laas said. She also urged members of the public and business people to help by donating food items or any unwanted goods to help those in need.
