Beaulieu Prep School vaulters excel

BEAULIEU – Learners from Beaulieu Prep School made their loved ones proud for achieving outstanding results in the recent South African Vaulting Championships in Balito.

Beaulieu Prep School learners competed in the Vaulting Championships in KwaZulu-Natal on September 5 and 6.

The South African Vaulting Championships in Balito saw the country’s best vaulters travel far and wide for the competition. The learners who took part in the event were not only representing their school in the Sanesa national league, but the province.

The start of the competition was marked by a parade and formal ceremony.

Group marketer for Kyalami Schools Ian Wright said equestrian captain Jenna Blaauw carried the provincial Gauteng flag for primary schools along with her Gauteng high school top compatriot vaulter, Jordan Wright.

He said, “Both Jenna and Shannon Turner competed at the highest level in the vaulting which was a close race for them. Jenna was crowned South African Children’s Vaulting Champion for her vaulting performance to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, and Shannon as the Scarlet Witch claimed a close second.

“The result carried similarly through into the Sanesa School’s National League.”

Zara Goeller won D Grade SA title and overall grade champion due to her high scores.

Wright acknowledged her achievements, considering a number of the riders are slightly older. “Within the Sanesa league, Zara also won a slighter higher grade for her Barrel routine, Level 5 C Grade.”

He concluded, “Entry E Grade class Giana Gonzaga narrowly missed a podium finish on her horse Crème Bruleé but won the Barrel class and vaulted beautifully across

all her rounds. She also competed in the Sanesa league and again won her Barrel class.”
