DIEPSLOOT – Ndou said he was introduced to house music by a friend who taught him how to deejay for different occasions and different audiences.

Growing up in the dusty streets of Diepsloot, Rudzani ‘Ruu_DJ’ Ndou, always had a dream to become one of the best DJs in the land and entertain people.

Ndou said he was introduced to house music by a friend who taught him how to deejay for different occasions and different audiences.

“I grew up listening to different music genres and falling in love with music came naturally. A friend of mine exposed me to house music, we started playing at weddings, parties and at pre-school graduations,” he said.

“In 2013, we bought our own sound [equipment] and got our first gig at a local club that helped us get exposed to big events.”

Ndou currently works as a sound manager and music DJ at Mome’s Place, a well-known local pub in Diepsloot. He is optimistic that his EP will receive a positive response from the public and music lovers.

“My passion is to entertain and serve people with good music. My previous single, titled Umuntu Omnyama [black man] in which I featured the late Nomsa, didn’t make it onto the airwaves. In 2014, I joined Mome’s team and since, never turned back.

“I have shared big stages with big names, such as Rulf Gum, Lars, Rocco, Vinny Da Vince, DJ Fresh just to name a few.

“I’m currently working on my first Afro tech EP with four hot tracks which will be out in due time and I believe that people will love it. It will be available on all digital music platforms when it comes out.”
