People’s Market brings local creatives and entrepreneurs together

WATERFALL– The Midrand People’s Market came at the right time when local entrepreneurs were still trying to recover from Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Local artists, performing groups and emerging entrepreneurs came out in their numbers to showcase their products and creative skills at the launch of The Midrand People’s Market event held in Waterfall Ridge on August 29 this year.

Grade 10 learner at Midrand High School and fashion designer Jardel Kadi applauded event organisers for coming up with what she described as a ground-breaking idea to uplift the community.

“This is a platform that we as young local entrepreneurs have been longing for all along. I am grateful to be part of such a great initiative. This platform will definitely open doors and enhance networking opportunities to us as emerging entrepreneurs. I really hope that it grows and becomes bigger than what it is currently,” Jardel said.

Aaron Muvevi from Buyus.Africa said the Midrand People’s Market came at the right time when local entrepreneurs were still trying to recover from Covid-19 lockdown restrictions that wrecked their businesses.

“I believe that this platform has the potential to give us exposure to the bigger market. Our company designs and produces beanies, masks and hoodies. We were operating in a local mall before but we had to close down because of the pandemic. We hope that events like this one will help many small businesses get back on their feet,’ Muvevi said.
