Visit the Woodrock pop-up and find a furry new family member

CHARTWELL – Woodrock Animal Rescue hosts a pop-up adoption centre at the Ark Walk Park.

Woodrock Animal Rescue has a number of adorable animals looking for homes.

The rescue centre was founded 34 years ago by Stella and Nicholas Meldau and is home to hundreds of animals ranging from dogs and cats to donkeys, pigs and geese.

In September last year, Woodrock opened its first pop-up adoption centre at the Garden Shop Parktown North which proved to be a resounding success.

The success of this first remote venue sparked further interest and Woodrock partnered with the Ark Walk Park in Chartwell to host a second pop-up adoption centre.

Stella said, “The kindness and generosity of Woodrock’s partners in this feat to get this project flighted has been overwhelming and Woodrock are deeply grateful to Marltons, The Garden Shop Parktown North, Lionel’s Choice and Hills SA.”

She explained that they manage the pop-up adoption process in the same manner they do with all adoptions. Each animal available for adoption has been sterilised, dewormed, vaccinated and chipped.

Those interested in adopting an animal at the pop-up can complete an application and pay their deposit. Once a home check has been completed, the animal can be homed with their new owner. Both pop-ups are open every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm.
