WATERFALL – Curro Waterfall welcomes Mark Heidmann as their new executive head.

Curro Holdings has welcomed Mark Heidmann as their new executive head for their Waterfall campus.

Heidmann, who has 30 years of experience in education, has career highlights which include the first roll-out of the first education-related IT systems programme in the Cape region and becoming the youngest headmaster in

South Africa.

Media manager for Curro, Lara Rothwell said, “He has led education institutions with learners from age two, to tertiary students. At one point in his career, Mark worked between offices in Cape Town, Bangalore, and London, involving executive school leadership and education projects in 20 countries.

“He also led a school group in the Middle East and developed one of the first fully inclusive schools in the region, before returning home to his sorely missed South African roots and family.”

Rothwell continued, “Mark believes in the power of education to change lives, and that the future of education is bright for those who are agile and prepared.”

Heidmann said, “Last year was unprecedented and while it will remain notorious in our memories, we would be remiss to ignore the many lessons and nuances of a most challenging time.

“I am certain that Curro Waterfall is well-positioned to take the lessons from such a year and grow to enable further success for all its learners.”

Rothwell added, “As a lifelong learner, Mark holds a Postgraduate Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Cape Town and the University of Johannesburg, as well as qualifications in IT, management, mentoring and coaching.

“Over the past decade, he has been called upon to present at various education institutions internationally and, more recently, a key presentation focus on education and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

Rothwell concluded that Curro Waterfall is excited to welcome Heidmann who took over from his predecessor, Dr Wilfred Bock on 1 January this year.
