Empowerment book features Fourways resident

FOURWAYS – Book launch of a book written for women is a success after being hosted at Fourways Mall.

A community member of Fourways is featured in a book for women with the aim of inspiring women that launched on 13 December outside Estoril Books at Fourways Mall.

Author Bhijal Parbhoo features in the book, Change Makers Volume Four written and published by Emma Hamlin who is part of the Change Maker press in Australia. The book hit number one on Amazon in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States.

The five-book series focuses on different women around the world and what drives their vision to help others, create businesses and develop lives in their communities. Being the first South African woman to feature in this volume, Parbhoo said she had heard of the work Hamlin did through a friend during her own book launch.

“Emma encouraged 25 brave souls from around the world to partake and share their life journeys. I wanted to share my story and empower as many other like-minded women out there.

“The writing process took two months. I shared my background with Emma and she was excited to include me in her book. Each author had a few online coaching sessions with Emma to ensure we polished our chapter,” she said.

Parbhoo’s dedication to helping women grow and strengthen themselves extends to the physical aspect as she also is a yoga instructor and self-defence instructor. Without revealing too much, she said her chapter looked into the support structure she had focused on.

“We all need a support structure, and we hold onto it like a diamond once we find it. My own family is definitely the most positive influence in my life. My sister, mother and husband all do so much for me.”

When it came to her writing career, Parbhoo said she wanted to continue to empower women on whatever journey they may be on to become more confident and courageous.

“I’d like to assist women to take control of their situations. I foresee my journey and my messages to assist in unfolding the negative mindset that many women pick up along their life journey.”

Books are still available on sale at Estoril Books in Fourways Mall.
