SA guide dogs still need your assistance

PAULSHOF – The South African Guide-Dogs Association is appealing for financial help after the lockdown has forced them to cancel or postpone all fundraising events.

The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) is calling on the public to support them during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The charity, which is located in the Paulshof area, has had to cancel or postpone all of their planned upcoming fundraising events in light of the spread of the disease, as well as government measures to prevent its spread.

Although the organisation’s offices have closed or been placed on hold, the GDA still needs to cover the costs of their facilities and medical bills for the dogs’ care during this time.

“We depend 100 per cent on our community’s support and we need you now more than ever to please assist to continue our work in the future,” a statement released by the non-profit read in part.

“We understand it is a difficult time for all, but if you are in any way able to assist us with financial support we would be most grateful.”

Donations to the Guide-Dogs Association can be made on the GDA’s website and the organisation is able to supply donors with an 18A tax certificate.
