Entrepreneurs learn about financial matters at Pineslopes networking event
PINESLOPES – It was a day for fighting debt recently when the Hirsch's Fourways store hosted a special networking event with guest speaker Nigel Willmott.
Local entrepreneurs recently gathered at Hirsch’s Fourways for their monthly business networking event.
The event, held at the Pineslopes-based flagship store, was a chance for participants to learn about finance, personal finance and how to deal with debt that you may have incurred both personally and professionally.

“Our speaker for the morning was Nigel Willmott who spoke to the attendees about personal financial wellness and 10 steps to blast your debt,” explained Marjone Barnard, the public relations officer for the store.
Willmott, who is the principal of Momentum Consult Clearwater, has served the financial services industry for over 25 years. Marjone added, “Nigel kicked off the session by giving some interesting statistics about the financial situation in South Africa. He then proceeded to talk about the 10 steps one needs to follow to blast your debt.
“The steps included owning up to it, assess the damage, monitor your spending, reduce wasteful expenditure, de-clutter your life, weigh your options, make big decisions, be goal-orientated, clear your name and stay on track.”
To end the morning, networkers were given the opportunity to showcase their products and introduce themselves and their businesses.
This was followed by a lucky draw, networking, sharing of business cards and enjoying refreshments.
