Pets is a pro-life animal shelter that works to support pet owners in the informal settlement to care for their animals. Volunteers do a number of things to help animals in need, such as provide food, medical care, sterilisation and vet treatment where necessary. They also work to re-home cats and dogs that are abandoned, abused or stray into forever homes.
Potential adopters must fill in and submit an application form, agree to a home check and pay an adoption fee of R600 which includes a microchip, deworming, vaccinations and sterilisation if the animal is aged over six months.
Beatrix is an eight-week-old mixed-breed female. She is a strong-natured but a lovable and adventurous girl. She is excellent at communicating and making sure you know what she wants. Whether it’s when she wants her food, to get up on the bed or if she just wants your attention. She is the biggest of the four female puppies of her litter and has the most gorgeous soft face with a hint of mischief. She’s a sporty type who’s always busy, out and about in the garden. She adores all people, young and old but has a visual impairment. She can see most things but struggles to focus on something close up. She needs a home with no open pools or access to the driveway. Otherwise, she copes absolutely fine, like a normal dog. Photo: SuppliedJay-Jay is a three-year-old mixed-breed male. He is good with other dogs his own size (medium) and loves to play.
