Family involved in Kyalami fight resolves matter privately

KYALAMI – No charges have been laid after a video of a family fight in Kyalami went viral on social media recently.

No charges have been laid after a video of what appears to be a family fight in Kyalami went viral on social media recently.

The video, which can be found on both Facebook and Twitter and is 2.36 minutes long, shows several men fighting one another with what appear to be swords. Two women also briefly appear on screen, and the video is peppered with strong language throughout as the participants fight one another. Although unconfirmed, the title of the video purports that the incident took place in Kyalami.

The Fourways Review contacted the Midrand Police Station to ask about the incident. According to Sergeant Matome Tlamela, spokesperson for the station, the family filmed in the video did have a meeting with police on 13 January and decided to resolve the matter privately, with none of the participants pressing charges against anyone else.

As there were no charges, the police were unable to comment further on the matter as it was not a police issue. It is still unclear as to when exactly the video was recorded.
