Share a cuppa with cops

FOURWAYS – Members of the public got to interact with officers from the Douglasdale Police Station and other stakeholders during the recent 'Coffee with a Cop' event in Fourways.


On 20 November the Douglasdale police continued with their festive season crime awareness campaign in the Fourways area.

Together with the Ithlokomeleng Batho Rehabilitation Centre (a non-profit that works with South Africa’s youth), the Johannesbrug Metropolitan Police Department, Douglasdale Community Policing Forum and security companies gathered at the Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre on the day.

The campaign, which was held under the theme ‘Coffee with a Cop’, was held in the form of an exhibition where the police interacted with the community and offered them free coffee while at the same time addressing issues of safety, certifying documents and affidavits for members of the public. The event went well, with community members applauding the work done by the police and giving input on how the police can best improve their service. The station confirmed that it will continue these campaigns in order to make sure that the Douglasdale community are and feel safe.
