PICS: A day for dad at Cedar Lakes Estate

BROADACRES – It was definitely a day for dad on Father's Day as Cedar Lakes Estate put on a special display of vintage cars, followed by a buffet meal and whiskey tasting.

It was a day for boys and their toys as Cedar Lakes Estate celebrated Father’s Day with a car show.

On 16 June, a special event was hosted at the estate’s newly-upgraded clubhouse, where about half a dozen car enthusiasts were invited to showcase their vehicles in the parking area for families (especially dads) to enjoy. After ogling the beautiful cars, families were invited to dig into a buffet and whiskey-tasting event hosted at the clubhouses’s restaurant section.

The day was organised by the Cedar Lakes homeowners association.

“We always host big events for days like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, so this year we decided to use the opportunity to show dad some vintage cars,” said Geneth McAlister, a member of the estate’s lifestyle committee. “We’re always looking for fun themes,” added Aneska Price, also of the lifestyle committee. “Last year [for Father’s Day] we had a superhero theme, and this year we wanted to focus on boys and their toys.”
