Douglasdale police, CPF and others conduct a crime awareness campaign

BLUE HEAVEN – The aim was to raise awareness about armed robberies, common robberies, hijackings and theft out of motor vehicles (smash-and-grabs).

On 18 March between 5pm and 8pm, the Douglasdale police held a joint operation and crime awareness campaign on the corner of Main and Robin roads.

The campaign was attended by different stakeholders including the Metro police, members of the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum, security companies, community patrollers, a local pastor and the Neighbourhood Watch.

The aim was to raise awareness about armed robberies, common robberies, hijackings and theft out of motor vehicles (smash-and-grabs) while JMPD enforced the bylaws.

The operation started with a divine intervention prayer session by a pastor from Dainfern Fellowship who prayed against the crime hotspot area and for motorists to be safe.

The police interacted with the community members regarding their safety and pamphlets on safety tips were distributed.
