Councillor Deppe responds to Sona

MIDRAND – Councillor Annette Deppe's response to the State of the Nation address.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe responded to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation address.

Ramaphosa made his second address on 7 February. The president’s speech was met with mixed responses from opposition parties and social media.

Councillor Deppe, who was in attendance, responded to the president’s address, “Cyril is the same driver of a different bus.”

She added, “Cyril’s message did not speak to the man on the street that can’t get their kids to school or feed their children every day or having one job in every home also to protect them against criminal activity and social venerability.”

Deppe said that the president was in ‘the same WhatsApp as Ace Magashule and friends’.

Deppe also encouraged all South African citizens to use their vote to make a difference.
