Eight unroadworthy and unlicensed minibus taxis impounded at R55 and Main Road intersection
KYALAMI – The following day, a further seven unroadworthy minibus taxis were also impounded during a public transport operation in the same area.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) on Monday impounded eight unroadworthy and unlicensed minibus taxis in Kyalami.
This was at R55 and Main Road intersection in Kyalami.
On Tuesday, seven unroadworthy minibus taxis were also impounded during a public transport operation in the same area. Chief JMPD, David Tembe, said the officers would continue to monitor the area.
Twitter users urged JMPD officers to continue removing these vehicles from the roads to make South African roads safer.
One Twitter user tweeted a video of unroadworthy Toyota Venture that is used to commute people around Midrand was posted on Twitter. The vehicle does not have brake lights, indicators and lights.

People have asked Metro police officers to visit various places in Johannesburg so they can impound more unroadworthy minibus tTaxis.
