Head-on collision in Douglasdale leaves one dead, another injured
DOUGLASDALE – An elderly woman was found lying in the driver's seat while a younger woman was found in the passenger seat.
One woman was killed and another injured yesterday morning, 4 January, when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided head-on on Grosvenor Road in Douglasdale.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene in the early hours to find both vehicles in the middle of the road.
An elderly woman was found lying in the driver’s seat while a younger woman was found in the passenger seat of the light motor vehicle.
Unfortunately, the elderly woman had already succumbed to her injuries. She was declared dead at the scene.
The second woman was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. The patient was treated for her injuries and transported to hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the bakkie escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
