New Year message from Ward 94 councillor, David Foley

LONEHILL – This is what Ward 94 councillor, David Foley had to say about the year.

Ward 94 councillor, David Foley shared his New Year message and his hopes for the year ahead.

“New Year is the time of year when everyone puts their New Year resolutions to the test to become better citizens. I also hope everyone decides on a couple of resolutions this year.”

Foley suggested the following resolutions:

  • Becoming better drivers as our driver behaviour at this stage is questionable
  • Refraining from throwing rubbish and cigarette butts in the streets and parks – rather use bins provided
  • Getting involved in community activities and be part of solutions and not complaining all the time
  • Preserving water as water is precious and if you see your neighbour watering between 6am to 6pm, chat to them about water restrictions, if they continue, report them to the Metro police.

“This year is going to be a crucial year for the people of South Africa. If ever change was needed for an effective coalition government, it needs to be around May with the provincial and national elections.

“Your vote is critical, make sure the IEC has your address on the voter’s role before the election day is proclaimed. Let us take South Africa forward for all its citizens. Have a prosperous New Year.”
