A big barking thank you from Ark Animal Centre

CHARTWELL – As 2018 winds down, the Ark Animal Centre located in Chartwell wants to say a huge thank you to the community who have helped so much this year.

Candice Eilertsen writes on behalf of the Ark Animal Centre in Chartwell to wish Fourways a happy Christmas:

Ark Animal Centre would like to wish the Fourways community a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Thanks to the incredible humans that live here, Ark has once again had a brilliant year.

The work we do is, most of the time, fairly unpleasant, but by kind and thoughtful gestures from the community throughout the year, we get the encouragement and inspiration to continue what we are good at – saving puppies and giving them a second chance at life.

This year we have seen our second-hand charity shop, Ark’s Attic, open its doors in Muldersdrift. It is doing phenomenally well, (again) thanks to our community for their continuous supply of donations of toys, kitchen items, clothes, handbags etc.

Some statistics on the shelter, we have to date sterilised over 1 500 animals in and around the area, we have homed over 700 animals, hosted thousands, and worked with literally thousands of volunteers and community students who are completing their school hours.

Once again, we want to let our community know how super thankful we are for their support and for their belief in what we do. Hoping everyone has an amazing holiday so we can make an even bigger difference in 2019!
